Scrooge, the Cratchits and the Ghosts of Christmas Past, Present, and Future will once again fill the stage with magic. The Charles Dickens classic features a night-long journey through the past, present and future that reawakens Ebenezer Scrooge to the true meaning of the holidays. Now in its 14th year, VSC's production of A Christmas Carol has entertained tens of thousands.

This year, VSC invites families to "Tea with the Cratchits" on  Sunday, December 19th prior to the 2pm matinee performance. Tiny Tim and the Cratchit family will host a holiday sing-along featuring tea with holiday sweets and a holiday story.

A Christmas Carol was published in 1843 as a novella and it rapidly became a holiday favorite. Today it is arguably the most-adapted non-Biblical Christmas story. Ebenezer Scrooge is the surviving partner of Scrooge & Marley, a business that values profit above all else. On Christmas Eve, Scrooge is his usual miserly self, chastising his sole employee, Bob Cratchit, for wanting to take off Christmas Day and insulting is nephew Fred for celebrating a holiday that "has never put a penny in anyone's pocket." But that night, Scrooge is visited by three spirits who show him his desolate path and give him the opportunity to gain his redemption. This timeless story continues to touch hearts, no matter how often it has been seen.
