    Library Exhibition: Churning the Waters Library Exhibition: Churning the Waters Presented by The Mariners' Museum May 4-June 1, 2012 This exhibition serves as an ancillary piece to Abandon Ship, opening May 26th, and will focus on archival items from The Mariners’ Collection. Images from some of the greatest sunken vessels will be exhibited, including the Titanic, USS Monitor- now located in The Mariners’ Museum, and Andrea Doria- an Italian beauty lost frivolousness.     Russ Morison The Mariners' Museum Russ Morison Presented by Mariners' Museum at The Mariners' Museum May 30, 2009 - Ongoing The USS Monitor was engaged in battles continuously from May 6 until September 1, 1862 in both the campaign to retake Hampton Roads and General McClellan's Peninsula Campaign. Life was hard for the 58 crew members, but through their courage and resourcefulness, they learned how to employ the Monitor's unique capabilities. The lessons learned influenced 34 Monitor class war ships during the Civil War and beyond.
