Under the artistic leadership of Maestro Peter Mark, Virginia's official opera company is recognized nationwide for identifying and presenting the finest young artists for the musical and dramatic integrity of its productions, and for the ingenuity and variety of its educational and outreach programs. One of the finest regional opera companies in the nation, Virginia Opera makes its home at Norfolk's Edythe C. and Stanley L. Harrison Opera House, and is the only such company to also present its productions regularly at two additional mainstage venues: the Landmark Theater in Richmond and George Mason University's Center for the Arts in Fairfax.

    4th Annual Opera in the Park Concert Town Point Park 4th Annual Opera in the Park Concert Presented by Norfolk Festevents Ltd. and Virginia Opera at Town Point Park September 15, 2012 Join us in Town Point Park as the sun sparkles over the waterfront and the stars of the Virginia Opera fill the air with beautiful music. The 4th Annual Opera in the Park Concert is free and everyone is welcome! At 6pm the curtains will rise and the melodious sounds of the Virginia Opera will take center stage as beautiful music fills the air along the Elizabeth River. Wear your Bermudas and flip flops to this family friendly day, and don't forget the lawn chairs and blankets...
