USS Wisconsin (BB-64)

The museum has five to seven volunteer docents on the ship who are available to answer any questions. The tour route covers the main deck and three decks above the main deck. Due to the ship's mobilization status with the Inactive Fleet, the interior spaces have been sealed. Winter hours are now in effect. Please be aware that closing procedures begin 15 minutes before close and the ship will close due to inclement weather. Hours: Tuesday-Friday 11:00am-3:00pm, Saturday 10:00am-5:00pm, and Sunday 12:00pm-5:00pm. Price: Free Admission.

      02/01/11- Ongoing	Guns, Sweat, and Gears: Anatomy of a Battleship USS Wisconsin (BB-64) Guns, Sweat, and Gears: Anatomy of a Battleship Presented by USS Wisconsin (BB-64) at USS Wisconsin (BB-64) February 1, 2011 - Ongoing Relive the past as you explore enormous gun devices, tools and personal mementos from Norfolk's own Battleship Wisconsin. This exhibit includes a 2,400 pound military analog computer, a 12-foot long optical range finder, WWII racks (bunks), galley equipment, shell sleds and cradles for moving the Wisconsin's 16 inch gun ammunition, a 48-star U.S. flag, and dozens of never-before-seen archival images.
      02/01/11- Ongoing	For Those in Uniform Who Have Served USS Wisconsin (BB-64) For Those in Uniform Who Have Served Presented by USS Wisconsin (BB-64) at USS Wisconsin (BB-64) February 1, 2011 - Ongoing Located in the entry of the Wisconsin Wardroom, this changing exhibit pays tribute to the armed forces, with the initial focus on Senator John W. Warner, who was instrumental in bringing the battleship Wisconsin to Norfolk. The exhibit includes memorabilia and photos from his Navy career.
      02/01/11- Ongoing	Battleship Wisconsin Topside Tours USS Wisconsin (BB-64) Battleship Wisconsin Topside Tours Presented by USS Wisconsin (BB-64) at USS Wisconsin (BB-64) February 1, 2011 - Ongoing Ages 8 and up. Explore previously sealed off areas of the Battleship during this fascinating guided tour. Includes the Administration area, radio room, main deck enlisted berthing, captain's cabin and sleeping quarters, flag bridge, navigation bridge and combat engagement center. This tour involves climbing up to 4 decks and entering small spaces. Participants must be physically fit and wear comfortable walking shoes.
